(1) Awful sound quality. I am telling this as someone who grew up with these songs so I know how they are supposed to sound(2) I am not sure how the original version is but this one has typos everywhere in the record. The ones I can see are the following (I don't have a Turkish keyboard so will just mention) briefly- Artist First name of Track 1 - Turkish character is used wrong- Artist Last name of Track 2 - Seriously?? Mustafa O"kz"ent?? At least have some sort of respect to and look up that name- Artist Last Name of Track 3 - Turkish character is used wrong- Song name of Track 3 - Turkish character is used wrong- Artist first name of Track 4 - Turkish character is used wrong- Artist first name of track 5 - Turkish character is used wrong- Song name of Track 6 - Turkish character is used wrong- Song name of Track 7 - Turkish character is used wrong- Artist name of Track 8 - Turkish character is used wrong- Song name of Track 9 - Turkish character is used wrong- Artist name of Track 10 - Turkish character is used wrong- Song name of Track 10 - "Sevgilim" not" Sevigilim"I am really frustrated that I paid for this piece of garbage label. I love the songs but can't enjoy because of this and the awful sound quality.

I've kinda got mixed feelings about this record.(i) Yes it's a bootleg, but my understanding is that the original was 'unofficial'. Surely we should be critical of that release too for not paying royalties to the original artists?(ii) The sound quality isn't great, but then again a lot of re-issues (especially Africa or South-East Asia) sound similar to me. I'm not sure I'd have picked up on this if I didn't know it was a bootleg, I'd just have thought that the masters are knackered or that it was poorly pressed.(iii) At first this was being billed by certain independent record shops as a 'warehouse find' or a 'limited restock'. They must have known it wasn't (the sheer number of copies that they had, and still have, for instance...) and are therefore complicit in this. I, and many others, fell for this, but then shouldn't we have known better ourselves? Maybe I should just be philosophical that anything that helps independents to stay afloat can only be good? Isn't the history of music littered with 'classic' bootleg albums? But then I know I'd find this really annoying if I had the original release and not the most recent version...Like I said, I'm pretty torn on this record. If you can get past all this the music is pretty good...

There are literally a dozen Turkish such comps: Turkish Delights LP and CD versions, Hava Narghile CD, Turkish Freakouts V1 and V2, Anatolia Rocks, V1 and V2, Psych Funk ala Turkish V1 and V2, Love Peace Poetry: Turkish Psychedelic Music, Istanbul 70, Saz Beat II, and the latest comp Turkish One Hit Wonders....ok all these are great, especially those that contain no big names...and that's what we need...we all know Erkin, Baris, and Cem...how bout thoseunknown artists that cut a few 45s that are killer psych funk folk...more of these please...call it Turkish Pebbles andproduce a 10 volume set, and watch these sell out like rarities that they are...wish I had access to all those 45s. I don't but the least I can do is speak to this. Ok, you Turkish citizens with all those 45s, I'm talking to you!

barf. 2014 version is terrible - and seeming suddenly ubiquitous. whoever's pressing/distributing/selling this should be ashamed. going straight in the trash.
Tiainar
2005 is slightly more shiny2014 the cover is cropped. the writing ( Kismet Yonca ) is half missing / the guitars on the right are half cut2014 sounds shitHope this helps
Mash
just bought one of the latest press, sounds great!!! listen on high quality system
Vertokini
Worst sounding record in my collection, lots of pops, crackle throughout the tracks.. (made me think of Trax records, was this made from rubber shoes ??)Hope they do this music justice & release it officially on virgin vinyl at a decent pressing plant..
Qusserel
Can you be more specific about which tracks have noise? Both of my copies were purchased new/sealed, both have matte sleeves and both play through without crackles/pops...
Ventelone
I have the 2014 version but for some reason in the cover it says 2005. Either way, I don't have respect to this record label due to their lack of respect for these amazing artists. The cover has 15+ typos and 2 of them are really annoying (typo of Mustafa Ozkent - They wrote "Okzent" and the song "Gel Sevgilim" where they wrote "Gel Sevigilim"). Besides that they used the Turkish characters randomly without even looking up. Garbage...
caif
The original 2005 copies cost double or more than the 2014's. But how are can be you sure that those 2005 on sale are the really the 2005 original? I mean, the only thing we have here at Discogs for the 2014 release is the front cover and not notes about how to establish a clear difference!!!

[2018 edit: this comment, as with many others below, posted in relation to the 2014 LP]The sound on this bootleg repressing is horribly compressed; sounds like it was remastered from MP3s. Poor quality vinyl also.
Tcaruieb
Picked up at copy at Honest Jon's recently. Sound wasn't as bad as the comments on here made me expect, but curious to listen to an original press.
Twentyfirstfinger
the portugese one from 2014 is not a repress but a bootleg and the sound is horrible ... don't you agree that there's a big difference between making a bootleg with love and affection and making a bootleg of a bootleg out of pure greed?
Sharpbringer
My repress sounds okay, like I would have expected it to sound, I guess. I don't have the original pressing to compare to, however.Does anyone know where this is sourced from? Original 7" pressings, or some other source?
Ielonere
I read an ebay listing of this record that said differing releases had matt / glossy sleeves. Any truth to this?
Musical Aura Island
Mine is matt - purchased from Honest Jon's last month
Just_paw
Looks like it has been repressed, was in stock at Honest Jon's for less than a day. Hopefully going to pop up in more record shops soon.
Xurad
Repress or not, it is available at other stores as well, for example here: http://www.guerssen.com/catalogue.php?ide=14847 (where it actually says it's a repress...)
Molotok
this was no repress! Honest Jons said this was deadstock they found in their warehouse...if you have the chance to get a cheap copy you betteract quick...
Cerana
yeah i concur the prices are redonkulous for a 2005 release
Erienan
Do you have any info about a repress?
Dagdarad
