The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack is the 1968 debut album by the English psychedelic rock and progressive rock group the Nice. It is considered one of the first albums in the latter genre. The name Emerlist Davjack is a pseudonym created by combining the last names of the four members of the group Keith Emerson, David O'List, Brian Davison, and Lee Jackson. While The Nice' first album has some of the pomp and indulgences of their later Emerson driven works, it is generally more 60's pop based. The title is of course a concoction of the names of the four band members, and while they are apparently given equal billing, it is perhaps significant that the part of Emerson's name appears first. Thoughts Of Emerlist Davjack Another psych-pop song again dominated by Emerson but we can hear. a lot of fine choruses too. Of course it's a little out of date nowadays but it suits this very happy-light song. The Thoughts Of Emerlist Davjack is one of rock's more underrated and overlooked efforts, despite the debut presence of keyboard wiz Keith Emerson. Prog fans think it's too psych, and psych fans think it's too prog. The album is best described as a hardcore psychedelic effort which points in the direction of prog, but all genre labels aside, this is highly inventive and powerful music. In fact, outside of Emerson, Lake And Palmer's far more mannered self-titled debut, Davjack is my favorite Keith Emerson album, for on no other release does he sound a. The correct track list is: 1.
