Eliane Radigue born in 1932 is a French electronic music composer whose work, since the early 1970s, has been almost exclusively created using a single synthesizer, the ARP 2500 modular system, and tape. Raised in Paris by middle-class parents, she married the sculptor Arman with whom she lived in Nice while raising their children. Radigue, intentionally or otherwise, seemed to evoke nothing less than music from the spheres the music's latent. The final work seems to arch straight out of a science fiction tableau, Radigue allowing those aforementioned . Eliane Radigue Biogenesis. This 1973 piece by Eliane Radigue stands out on surface level as being very unlike her work before or after this period. The sources are essentially acoustic and a far cry from the technology she most often sought: with a stethoscope and a microphone, she recorded the heartbeats of her son, her pregnant daughter, and the rhythms of her yet to be born was during this time that Radigue was truly immersing herself in the ARP synth, and shortly prior to her brief. Considered by many to be the greatest entry in Metamkine's Cinema Pour L'Orielle series, Biogenesis was composed by the magnificent Eliane Radigue in 1973 and first performed in New York in 1974. The piece was finally released in 1996 and is wonderful in every way. I'll bet the first thing you do after listening to this 21-minute masterpiece is play it again from the beginning. I did not want this to end. I hope you feel the same way. Posted by Mrs. Inside at 05:30

Funny duck
|Biogenesis|, completed in 1974, actually combines the heartbeats of Radigue's son and her pregnant daughter, with the rhythms of her grandchild, then still in the womb. This "hymn to the perpetuation of life" was realized using an ordinary microphone and a stethoscope. The technique was primitive, "something absolutely not professional", but the result is stirringly corporeal.
